LeftyKeys is a menu-bar utility for macOS made by Hiddenmine Labs. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. In short: LeftyKeys does not collect, store, or transmit your keystrokes or any personal data for analytics or advertising.

What LeftyKeys does on your Mac

LeftyKeys uses the macOS Accessibility permission to swap two pairs of keyboard keys (CapsLock ⇄ Enter and Tab ⇄ Backspace) system-wide. Key events are read and rewritten in memory only, on your device. They are never logged, saved, or sent anywhere.
Your settings (which swaps are on, launch-at-login, onboarding state) are stored locally on your Mac using the standard macOS preferences system.
Your free-trial start date and license key are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device.

Information sent off your device

The only network requests LeftyKeys makes are to our licensing provider, solely to activate, validate, and deactivate your license:

Your license key, and a device name (your Mac's name) used to label the activation.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, crash-reporting services, or any third-party trackers.

Software updates

LeftyKeys checks for updates using Sparkle. An update check contacts our release server to download a signed update feed. These requests are not used to build a profile of you.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by our store and payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Please refer to the store's own privacy terms for how payment information is handled.

Data retention & your rights

Because LeftyKeys stores its data locally on your Mac, uninstalling the app and removing its Keychain entries removes that data. For license records held by our store, contact us to request access or deletion.

Children

LeftyKeys is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
